Nunavut, exotismo matutino

Today in our English class we had a special guest. Since I’m deleguate/Mrs Boeuf’s ”little slave”/ chouchoute, she asked me to go and wait for him at the gate. She told me he looked "Canadian". I’ve been waiting like 10 min under the rain, and OD our director was super interested in meeting him, since he was going to talk about NUNAVUT.
Can’t remember his name, he’s a Greek who’ve been living in Nunavut for months, and studying its people, and teaching their children. He sounded passionate, although he sounded full loser, the kind of kid who’s boasting because he got higher in the tree… (Canadian look --> una camisa cuadrada, faltaba la barba a mil pensé en Laurach y nuestro viaje a Vancouver ; también pensé mucho en Bruce, que estudia la geologia del northern Canada... Y al trip de vie de l'entreprise, con Maëlle, Lucien y la Carmen - Is Canada the land of the free and the brave?)
What’s Nunavut?? In northern Canada, Inuits decided to constitute an almost autonomous region, in order to escape the destructive power of central state and aggressive priests. Of course they’re still dependant from Canada, who finances all the economy etc, however a great step has been made toward more respect of cultural habits.
Inuits dread confinement, they used to be nomads, to migrate at the pace of the 6 seasons, following caribous and fiches in the rivers, sleeping in igloos, resisting the average temperatures of -40 degrees (if you're naked you got frozen in 2 min). In order to survive, they shared everything, from food to children.
That is sooooo exotic!! I‘d like to learn more about them. It’s like… prehistory, something that must remain hidden in us…

Would be a nice trip for Xmas! No paja, the guy told us it was really expensive, over all for the Inuits to go out of the country, since the planes are really few, and the flying conditions really bad. Thus they are stucked there. And since they’ve lost their culture, because the priest took them away from their parents for them to adopt occidental way of life, they don’t know how to hunt or to talk to bear… that’s why they just seat and watch TV, and what to do, what to do? DRINK, take drugs, commit suicide.
That’s not that exotic…
